Chocolate-Covered Nut Crunch Bars

Ingredients:

 

1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, or peanuts – chopped)

1 cup puffed rice or crushed cornflakes

3 tbsp honey or maple syrup

2 tbsp butter (or coconut oil)

100 g milk or dark chocolate (for the nut mixture)

200 g dark chocolate (for coating)

Pinch of salt

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

 

Toast the nuts (optional):

In a dry pan, toast the chopped nuts over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes until fragrant. Set aside.

Prepare the base mixture:

In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter, honey, and 100 g of chocolate together over low heat. Stir until smooth.

Add the chopped nuts, puffed rice (or cornflakes), vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.

Shape the bars:

Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Pour the mixture onto it and flatten evenly (about 1.5 cm thick).

Let it cool for 15–20 minutes, then cut into rectangles or squares.

Coat with chocolate:

Melt the remaining 200 g dark chocolate.

Dip each bar into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage.

Place on parchment paper and refrigerate for 30–40 minutes until the coating hardens.

Tips:

Add a bit of sea salt on top for a salty-sweet contrast.

You can mix in raisins, coconut flakes, or crushed pretze
