500g beef or chicken liver, cleaned and sliced

2 large onions, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Preparation Instructions:

Prepare the Liver:

Clean the liver thoroughly and slice it into even pieces. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.

Cook the Onions:

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become soft and golden brown, about 7-10 minutes. Set aside.

Fry the Liver:

In the same pan, add the remaining oil or butter and heat over medium-high heat.

Season the liver slices with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Once the pan is hot, fry the liver for 2-3 minutes on each side, ensuring they are browned but still tender inside.

Combine and Serve:

Add the cooked onions back into the pan with the liver. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Garnish with fresh parsley (optional) and serve hot.

Serving Suggestions:

This dish pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a light salad. It also makes an excellent filling for a sandwich or wrap.
